What is already on my site when I arrive?

All sites at Twin Shores have a picnic table, fire ring and water tap.

What does S, F, W, WE, FE and WS mean?

S, F and W are unserviced sites. When the park was built in 1969 it meant (S)hore, (F)ield and (W)oods and we've kept using it ever since. WE and FE are water and electric sites. WS is a full serviced site with water, electricity and sewer. All sites at Twin Shores have a fire ring and picnic table.

What is a full service premium site?

Our full service premium sites are near the Gulf and Bay beach entrances. They are equipped with 50/30/20 amp electric connections and have gravel parking pads. WS sites 230-243, 316-331, 401-403 & 720-850 are premium. New for 2024 are premium WE sites which will have the same power connections but no sewer. These premium water and electric sites will be WE250-270.

Can I have visitors while camping?
Yes, but please let your visitors know that there is a visitor fee both daily and nightly. Many visitors are not campers themselves and would not anticipate this. Explain that this fee gives your visitor full use of all facilities and amenities while here in the park. Day visitors must register with the security office between 9AM and 9PM and are welcome to stay until 10PM. Make sure visitors know the site number and name your reservation is under before they arrive. The visitor fee is $10 per carload. If the visit is less than an hour all $10 is refunded; if the visit is longer than an hour $5 is refunded. Visitors staying overnight must register with the main office. Adults are $10, children are $7 and vehicles are $10 per night plus HST. You are responsible for your visitors' actions. We do not allow public access to Twin Shores. You must be visiting a registered camper for entry. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone at any time.

Do you have a pool?

No, but we do happen to have 3 beaches with almost 4KM of coastline. We have the longest saltwater coastline of any known private campground in North America.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes and No. Due to our remoteness we have very limited bandwidth available in Lower Darnley. We do have Wi-Fi hotspots in the park but again, our bandwidth is limited beyond our control. Our network is intended to check email and Internet browsing. It is not intended for work use or to stream video. At check-in, you will receive 1 free access code for a single device to connect to our network. Additional codes may be purchased at any time. Free access is available without a code at Twin Perks Cafe and Beach Treats. To help connect to our network an external Wi-Fi antennae should be brought with you from home. In our wooded sections of the park, the Wi-Fi range is almost non-existent.

Is alcohol permitted?

Consumption of alcohol is discouraged at Twin Shores as it contradicts the family-friendly atmosphere we strive to deliver. If you do consume alcohol it must be done on your site and in a concealed container.

Is smoking permitted?

Smoking is not permitted in any common area.

Is cannabis permitted?

Cannabis consumption is only permitted inside one’s own camping unit (i.e. RV or tent).

Can I bring my golf cart?

No, but we do have Camper Cart rentals and a beach shuttle to make getting around the park easier. In addition to golf carts, we do not permit ATVs, motorized youth carts, electric scooters or any non-plated motorized vehicles within the park.

Does it cost anything to use the showers?

Our showers are metered to help conserve our limited well water supply. There are 26 showers located throughout the park for your convenience. Showers accept quarters only. One quarter will provide 4 minutes of hot water. Up to 4 quarters may be inserted for additional time. For more info on our water-saving and other conservation efforts please click here

Are campfires allowed and can I bring firewood?

Controlled and attended campfires are permitted at all sites until 12 AM. You can bring firewood but only if it was harvested on P.E.I. Don't give bugs a free ride! Firewood is available for sale at the entrance gate, $8 for firewood and $8 for kindling.

Can I bring fireworks?
No. Fireworks and Chinese lanterns are illegal on PEI.

Can we bring pets camping?
You bet! Four-legged friends are always welcome but the following rules apply. Pets must be on a leash and attended
to at all times. Pets are also not permitted in any park buildings, -this includes rustic cabins, cottages and park models-, playgrounds or on our Proffitt's Point beach. Guests are responsible to clean up after their pet. Aggressive or disruptive behaviour is not tolerated. We are not responsible for any injury or damage caused by pet(s). In addition, the owner of a pet that causes injury or damage is expected to resolve the issue directly with the affected party. Exotic pets are not permitted.

Can I take my dog to the beach?

If your dog is well behaved, leashed, picked up after and kept away from other beachgoers there should not be a problem as it is public property. Aggressive or disruptive dogs will not be tolerated. Dogs are not allowed on our Profitt's Point beach due to it being an endangered species habitat.

What is included in the linen package for the Rustic Cabins?

Our Rustic Cabins do not come equipped with linens, but you can add on a linen package for an additional cost of $50. The package includes 4 pillows, sheet sets for each bed, fleece blankets for each bed, 4 bath towels, 4 hand towels and 4 wash cloths.
